VILLA SOLARIA - UMBRIA - CASTELVISCARDO - ORVIETO (TERNI)


Villa Solaria is a stone farmhouse located in the village of Castelviscardo at about 10 km from the centre of Orvieto. The recent renovation made with especial care from the owners, has transformed this farmhouse in a very pleasant holiday spot. The internal furniture has been tastefully chosen and merges with the original architecture of the house.
The villa with a beautiful english style lawn (where the pool is located) enjoys a splendid view over the Umbrian countryside, and it’s surrounded by a vineyard, olive trees and woodland with numerous paths where taking walks in the green countryside. Orvieto is easily reached for a visit of this characteristic town built on a hill of “tufo” with its world famous Cathedral, museums, well and artisan workshops. The ground floor is currently used as store room.


PARK: the driveway and area around the house is in beaten earth, and a well kept lawn with large trees and flowering shrubs. Vineyards, olive groves and woodland complete the landscape.


SWIMMING POOL: open from April 29th to October 7th, about 20 m from the villa there is a 6 x 12 m swimming pool with wide steps leading down into it. Beside the pool there are deckchairs with sun umbrellas and a small stony beach. The pool has an outdoor shower too.


INTERIORS: The house is of regular shape and only one floor is habitable (the first floor) Staircase of the esternal loggia takes into the living/dining room which leads to the kitchen with laundry/storeroom; to the three bedrooms, (one twin and two double), to the two bathrooms (one en suite with shower; and a bathroom with tube).





The windows of the living/dining room and kitchen look out over the swimming pool while the other windows look out over the surrounding countryside. All the rooms are well furnished in “poor art” style or reproductions of the same. The bedrooms have wrought iron beds.
The floor is rough tiled and the ceiling has wooden beams. On the ground floor, in front of the swimming pool, is a patio equipped with table, chairs and wicker armchairs as well as a barbecue/oven.


SERVICES INCLUDED: electricity, water, gas for cooking use, weekly linen , initial and final cleaning, garden and pool maintenance.
